Water Softening Systems
Softening systems protect steam generators from limescale buildup and ensure reliable feed water quality. Softening takes place via an ion exchanger: hardness-forming minerals such as calcium and magnesium are exchanged for sodium ions. This produces soft water, significantly reducing scale formation on heating surfaces.
Single-column or twin-column — the right variant
For steam generators, a softening system becomes important from a raw water hardness of 3 °dH. Depending on the application, we offer single- and twin-column softening systems — sized to match raw water quality, water demand and the operating pattern of the steam system.
