Steam as a key medium in the brewery
The brewing industry has always been closely linked to the use of steam. From mashing and boiling through to filling and sterilisation, steam plays a central role in numerous brewing processes.
Traditionally, fossil-fired steam boilers are used to generate steam. However, these systems are not only harmful to the environment, but also expensive to operate and require a high maintenance effort. Electric steam generators offer a forward-looking alternative.
Advantages of electric steam generators
Sustainability
Electric steam generators emit no greenhouse gases and no particulate matter. They thus contribute to a cleaner environment and a smaller CO2 footprint. Many of our customers partly use their own solar power, which makes operating the system even more economical and environmentally friendly.
Efficiency
Electric steam generators are distinguished by a high level of efficiency. The entire energy supplied is converted into steam without heat losses occurring. This saves energy and reduces operating costs.
Flexibility
Electric steam generators can be used as required. They are ready for operation within approx. 5 minutes and can be adapted to the fluctuating steam requirements in the brewery. In this way, the energy supply can be organised flexibly and efficiently.
Modularity
Electric steam generators have a modular design and can be installed in any size. In this way, steam generation can be adapted to the specific needs of the brewery.
Ease of maintenance
Electric steam generators require only little maintenance effort. They are free of soot and deposits, which simplifies maintenance and increases the service life of the systems.
Practical example: the “De Lütte” brewery
The “De Lütte” brewery from the Lüneburg Heath has also recognised the potential. Its owner, Jan Koch, has equipped his new production facility with a modern brewing plant that is heated by an electric steam generator from DINO.
With the investment in a new brewing plant, Mr Koch wants to optimise his production processes and at the same time reduce his ecological footprint. Since the commissioning of the new brewing plant in Egestorf, Mr Koch has been enthusiastic about the DINO steam generator: “The system runs perfectly and meets all my expectations. Steam generation is efficient and reliable, and I am actively contributing to environmental protection.”
About the De Lütte brewery
The De Lütte brewery was founded in 2018 by Jan Koch (a brewer for 29 years and also a master brewer for 4 years) and is located in Salzhausen in Lower Saxony as well as at the new site in Egestorf. The brewery produces craft-brewed beers in various varieties that are popular in the region and beyond. The brewery attaches great importance to tradition and quality and uses exclusively natural ingredients.
